A valid driving licence suited for the vehicle category is required, along with identification and proof of your current address. Booking and Payment Details
- Reservations can be made via our website, by telephone, or directly at our Cornwall office. A deposit may be necessary to confirm your booking. Full payment and a security deposit are generally required upon vehicle pickup. All prices are listed in British Pounds (£) and include VAT where applicable. We accept major credit and debit cards, processed securely through trusted payment platforms.
4. Collecting and Returning Vehicles
- At the time of collection, it is your responsibility to conduct a thorough inspection of the vehicle and report any pre-existing damage without delay. A vehicle condition report will be prepared and must be signed by both parties. Please return the vehicle in the same state as when it was collected, taking into account normal wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated and charged accordingly. The vehicle should be returned with the same fuel level as at collection; refueling charges will be applied if it is returned with less fuel. Late returns may result in additional fees, so please inform us as soon as possible if you anticipate a delay. You remain liable for any parking fines, traffic violations, or other charges incurred during your rental period, along with an administration fee.
Insurance and Liability Terms

7. Restricted Activities
Prohibited vehicle uses:
- Use of the vehicle for any unlawful activities is prohibited. This includes racing, rallying, off-roading, or any other dangerous maneuvers. Transporting hazardous materials or substances is also not allowed. Sub-letting to others or permitting unauthorized drivers is strictly forbidden. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs will not be tolerated. The vehicle must be used for its intended purposes only, adhering to passenger and weight limits. Additionally, driving outside of the specified geographical boundaries requires prior authorization.
Breaching these terms may lead to rental cancellation and extra fees.
8. Liability Restrictions
Within the limits set by English and Welsh law, Car Hire Cornwall will not be responsible for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business, resulting from your use of our services. Our maximum liability for any claims will not exceed the total amount paid for rentals in the previous 12 months. This limitation does not apply to liability for death or personal injury due to negligence, or for fraudulent activities.
